The March
birthday party was organised by Ms. Smita Waghmare and her Play Group class.
The entire event was planned a month prior to the celebration. Considering the
teachers’ suggestions, it was decided that the students should be given a free
stage to perform. Due to the then ongoing evaluation period, teachers had given
responsibility of performance practice to parents. This activity got a great
response. Students who had never performed earlier were also given a chance to
perform. In all, thirty-two performances took place that included Singing,
dancing, acting and Djembe playing. Mohan from Pre voc 1 class anchored the
program.
Ten
performances took place in the morning and the rest post lunch. During this month we had
eleven students celebrating their birthdays. No staff member had a birthday in
this month. Meenal and Arya (student of Primary 1) did the Aukshan (Aarti) and
prayed for their long and happy lives. The birthday cake was then cut with
everyone sing the birthday song. The children were given gifts and birthday
cards with the help of vocational class students.
Students
were very excited to perform. All the students gave great performances.
Prannoys did djembe performance and Aashika’s singing were amazing. Aditya from
Primary 1 class gave outstanding performance by singing old song by Kishore
Kumar. Amrut performed the mimicry of Sarang Sir whereas Shahab sang the Azaan.
Children were then made to sit in circle and the snacks was served.
Objectives:
1. Increasing socialization
2. Taking initiative of performing
on their own
3. Boost confidence.
