Guru Purnima Celebration At School

Guru is the guide who shows us the light and leads us  to the right path when we are lost. Guru is the inner strength that keeps us strong even on rough days. Guru is the faith in confidence knowing that we are safe. Guru is the recipient of our greatest respect, be it in form or in spirit or in ethereal world, from ephemeral to the eternal.

Guru Purnima is the day we dedicate ourselves completely to highest power within us.

Guru Purnima was celebrated at our CBD centre on 27th July 2018. Family, friends, students and their parents were invited to celebrate this big day together. After the prayers, performed by the priest, there were beautiful hymns sung by group of senior women, very lyrical and soothing - transmitting a vibrant atmosphere.

a live performance of this hymns can be enjoyed  at facebook

Two floors upstairs, lovely fragrance of food (cooked specially for this occasion) filled the kitchen. Teachers and volunteers helped in the kitchen to prepare the, special meals.

Food was served with love to every person who graced this event

The menu of dhal rice, mixed vegetables, puris, salad, pickle, papad and pudding was so very delicious.

Gods were pleased, so were we.

Many messages floated on social media, one that I liked the most

Guru : The two syllables ‘gu’ and ‘ru’; literally mean the ‘dispeller’ of ‘darkness’. The one who enters our life to reveal the truth to us. To make us realise the temporary-ness of everyone and everything in this world. And when we function from the higher self and see the higher self in all, we function in our self, with the truth in one and all. On guru Poornima let’s resolve to seek always the truth, to always function in and through truth by continuing to work on our Self.
