Participation in Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games 2013

                                                                   Ms. Disha Maru

Four students of SBP have been selected to participate in the  Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games from 1-7 December 2013 in Australia. These students have been selected based on their past performance.
Ms. Disha Maru aged 23 has been selected to participate in aquatics. Disha has won gold medals at the National level and was selected as a standby to represent India in the World Summer Games organized by International Special Olympics held at Dublin, Ireland  in the year 2003, (but did not attend as she was selected only as standby participant).  She has participated in many swimming competitions winning various medals.
Ms. Lakshmi Shetty aged  25 is also a gold medal winner in the event of Table Tennis at the National Level. She too was selected as a standby in the World Summer Games organized by International Special Olympics held at Shanghai China in the year 2007 (but did not attend as she was selected only as standby participant).  Lakshmi has also participated in many TT tournaments winning medals.
Mst. Mangesh Mhaske aged 23 won the gold medal in athletics at the National Level games organized by Ministry of Youth and Sports affairs and Special Olympics Bharat in the year 2012 at Bhopal.
Mst.  Srilak bhoir aged 20 , a student of our Sweekar Centre, Uran won a gold medal in Badminton Singles at the National Level games organized by Ministry of Youth and Sports affairs and Special Olympics Bharat in the year 2012 at Bhopal.
Our special children have special abilities and it becomes the responsibility of the institution to find these inherent talents and develop them to the best of their abilities. We are very proud of our students and wish them well.
