SBP organized the
Annual sports for the students on the 10th of January 2013 at Bharat
Ratna Late Shri. Rajiv Gandhi Maidan, Sector 3, CBD, Navi Mumbai. Fun games
were planned for the students of all age groups. Each child participated in two
events. Events like collecting balls in
a bucket, book balancing, three legged race, eating without using hands etc.
the events were so designed to facilitate each and every child so that every
child went back home with medals.
The event began at 10 am with a march past where all the children
marched classwise and assembled on the ground. The students took the Oath ”Let
me win, but if I cannot win , let me be brave in the attempt.”The welcome
address was given by Trustee Mrs. Charu Shah and the chief Guest was
introduced. The chief Guest for the day was Rtn. Mr. G.M.Bhuvan President of
Rotary Club of New Bombay Hillside and the Guest of Honour Mrs. Lakshmi Kumar
President of Inner Wheel Club of New Bombay Hillside. The Chief Guest motivated
the students with words of encouragement and declared the meet open.
The events for the younger children were the first to be
conducted followed by events for the other age groups. A relay race was also
conducted where 40 students
participated. Special events for parents and teachers were also organized.
Musical chair for Parents, Tug of War- Parents vs Teachers were great fun.
Prizes were given away by the Chief Guest and Guest of
honour at the end of the day. Mr. Revappa Gurav the District Sports Officer of Navi Mumbai also
joined in the prize distribution.The Medals were sponsored by both the Rotary
and Inner wheel club of New Bombay Hillside. Food was sponsored by Mrs. Usha
Koundinya.
The Trainees of NIMH also helped in the school sports.
The children and their Parents thoroughly enjoyed the
special sports for the special children. The spots ended on a happy note.
