On 20th February, our students took part at INNER WHEEL LITTLE CHAMP'S Inter-school dance competition for Special Children at SNDT girl's school and secured 3rd place in Folk dance category
The age criteria for this competition were set between 4-17 years. There were Folk and Bollywood dance category. We chose folk dance and choreographed a tribal dance in a short period of time. Due to the age limit the number of students participating from our school was limited, our students stood third place in the FOLK category and our school received a trophy for the same. The dressing up and the make-up were quite good and the use of BHANDARA (turmeric) had put a life in the performance giving it a hint of reality. The pyramid formation at the end of the dance won the hearts of the judges present.
This dance had total number of 10 students accompanied by 2 teachers and 1 caretaker.
However, there were some minor problems during handling of the students, during organising of dance equipment’s and placing of the participants at their designated positions on the stage. Since the hall was on the 6th floor and the washroom facilities at the ground floor, our caretakers were inconvenienced during conducting their task. The overall management was done by two teachers : Vidya Avasak and Smita Waghmare.
The students received small gifts and some snacks. The overall performance was simply awesome.
As reported by Vidya and Smita
