Every year,
during Diwali festival, exhibitions are held at school and at many different
avenues whereby the beautiful articles made by children during the academic
year are sold at competitive prices. Many people are impressed by their
workmanship and give bulk orders for products that they use for their private parties as gifts.
Presently if
you were to visit school, you are likely to see many children at our vocational
unit busy making envelops that can be used for different purpose.
Some children
are making pretty tissue bags of different sizes (small, medium, large) while others
are busy making brown paper bags.
There is a bulk order of 150 tissue paper bags
from one well wisher and there is another order of 70 brown bags from another
well wisher that will be used by them for enveloping wedding gifts.
400 more bags
will be made that will be used during fun fair that is to be held soon at
art and craft kiosk, whereby the visitors can print their own designs on these
brown bags and take them home.
Interestingly,
making paper bags is a team effort and every child does only one kind of work
for which he is trained. The work varies from cutting the
paper, folding it with use of stencils, pasting and putting eyelets and stringing
the cord are all done by different group of students to get the final product
made perfectly for sale.
There is also
another order for making fragrant soap and candles. 70pairs to be exact, these
will be distributed as wedding gifts to their guests.
The children
are cheerful while they work, listening to the soft music, that keeps playing in the background.
They look so
relaxed while working on this task. You have to see to believe it.
