The Social Welfare Department of Thane Zilla Parishad, Thane
organised a two day exhibition cum sale of articles made by the students of
various special schools of Thane zilla on 12th and 13th
of October 2017 at Gavdevi Maidan,
Thane. The exhibition was inaugurated by Sri.
Vivek Bimanvar, CEO of Zilla Parishad Thane. Also present in the exhibition
were Special Guests, Sri. Ravindra Patil,
Additional CEO of Zilla Parishad Thane and Sri. Yashwant More, Divisional
Deputy Commissioner.
The Chief Guest Sari. Vivek Bmanvar and the Honoured guests
visited each and every stall accompanied by Sri. Ravikiran Patil the District
Social Welfare Officer and encouraged the students and the staff members.
20 special schools and vocational centres of Thane zilla
participated in this exhibition. The exhibition started on 12th at
9:30 am with the inauguration and continued till 8pm on the 13th. Different
types products made by the special children were displayed by the schools at
their respective stalls. Brochures and school information was also made
available at every stall.
The stalls were visited by many people and this gave an
opportunity to spread awareness about the different abilities of the special
children.
This initiative was taken by Sri. Ravikiran Patil, the
District Social Welfare Officer and Sri. Penkar of Social Welfare Department of Thane and very
well coordinated by the members of his department. Excellent stall
arrangements, refreshments, cleanliness and security factors were taken in to
consideration by the organizers.
