We are happy to share the news that our special school is awarded as the best school in Thane district area having earned the maximum number of medals in the 'Art and Craft Ability Mela' held in October 2013
15 students of Swami Brahmanand Pratishthan’s CBD centre and 13 students of Sweekar , Uran participated in the Mela
The work that they created was beautiful and some of them bagged prizes.
This rangoli was created by our Special child Aditi Varma who used flowers and leaves to create design and was awarded 1st prize.
Gandhar made necklace re-using silver foil paper to make beads.
Pratik Tayede made rangoli with colored powdered.
Our school children won the maximum number of medals :winning 4 gold medals, two silvers and two bronze medals.
Our student Karina won the 3rd prize for drawing
An Ability Mela was organized for the special children of Mumbai, Thane , Ratnagiri, Sindudurg and Raigad district by the International Association of Lions Clubs in collaboration with Social welfare department, Govt of Maharashtra on the 5th of October.

An Ability Mela was organized for the special children of Mumbai, Thane , Ratnagiri, Sindudurg and Raigad district by the International Association of Lions Clubs in collaboration with Social welfare department, Govt of Maharashtra on the 5th of October.
A total number of 768 students from 100 schools of Mumbai
city and suburb, Thane and Raigad
district participated in various events
which were as follows: printing, drawing, greeting card, clay modeling and
waste reuse for 10 -14 age group and drawing, greeting card, mehendi, rangoli,
embroidery, flower arrangement and flower making for the above 15 age group.
The events were held in the spacious three storied building
of D. C. Barfiwala school at Andheri west under the able leadership of Mrs.
Darshana Khotari, Secretary of Barfiwala school.
The students gathered at the venue by 9 am and the competition
began at 10. 100 volunteers who were special educators and craft teachers
accustomed to working with the special children escorted the students to the
rooms allotted for the various events and handed them over to the event
supervisors. The students were given 3 hours to complete their event.
Mr. Yashwant More the Regional Commissioner for Social
Justice and Empowerment- Mumbai Division and Mr. Shinde the Secretary , Social
Justice and Empowerment- Mumbai Division graced the occasion and encouraged the
children. Lions Subhash Udaipure the District Governor of District 323 A3,
2013-14 was the chief Guest for the Ability Mela.
Celebrity Tushaar Kapoor also graced the occasion and
encouraged the students.
The event was sponsored by the members of International
Association of Lions club and Pidilite.
