Ganesh Idol making workshop was organized on the 11th
September 2018 in the school premises by the school in collaboration with the
Inner Wheel Club of New Bombay hillside. Rtn. Gopal Dutt Sharma was the
resource person. He demonstrated to the students and encouraged them to make
their own Ganesh idol with two blobs of clay. The students initially showed
reluctance to get their hands dirty but slowly started moulding the clay and
rolling in to a big ball. Step by step they learnt the procedure of making the
idol starting with a big ball of clay for the body then a smaller ball for the
head and so on. Then it was left to the creativity of the child. It was amazing
to see the children come up with very good ideas as they created the Ganesh
idols. 25 students under the supervision of four teachers and six inner Wheel
members participated in the workshop.
